Why Do Wearable & Portable Medical Devices Use Specialized Ultra-thin LiPo Batteries?

As portable and wearable medical devices become smaller and thinner, the space available for batteries inside is extremely limited. Traditional lithium batteries are difficult to fit due to their large thickness, rigid shape, and low space utilization. In addition, standard battery cells have problems such as voltage fluctuations, rapid capacity decay, and unstable performance under extreme temperatures. Long-term use can easily lead to safety hazards such as bulging, leakage, and overheating. They cannot meet the needs for stable, long-term monitoring.

Symbo’s ultra-thin lithium polymer battery uses a flexible aluminum-plastic film stacking process, breaking through the size limitations of hard-shell batteries. We support full-size customization, including ultra-thin, curved, irregular, and rounded shapes, to maximize the use of narrow spaces.

Our batteries use high-purity lithium cobalt oxide cathodes and modified graphite anodes, supplemented by high-purity current collectors and high-temperature-resistant medical-grade separators, resulting in extremely low internal resistance. Meanwhile, combined with a multi-protection BMS circuit board, it can achieve stable charge-discharge curves and excellent cycle life. Its structural design significantly reduces the risk of bulging and leakage, and fully meets the safety standards for long-term close-fitting use.

Ultra-thin LiPo batteries are widely compatible with continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, OTC hearing aids, medical sensor patches, health monitoring watches, and portable diagnostic devices.
